General Description

Head south from Sydney and pick up the Princes Highway. Turn off the Princes Highway at Loftus and head through the Royal National Park, across the Audley Weir. Continue through the park and Otford. You can stop at the Stanwell Tops looks out but it is generally pretty crowded of a weekend.

Continuing on you will cross the Sea Cliff Bridge. The very next right will be Rube Hargrave Park where there are toilets. If you cross the road you will also have magnificent views of the ocean of an a clear day. From there you continue on towards Wollongong.

As you approach Wollongong you have the option of turning right and heading up Bulli Pass and back onto the freeway. This is generally a faster route than the stop start traffic in Wollongong.

Linking up with the freeway you continue south along the freeway through Albion Park and then past Kiama. The turn off to the Little Blowhole Cafe if just before Kiama Heights.

Positives

Great driving road through the Royal National Park. Excellent ocean views along coast road as well as some freeway driving.

Negatives

Cyclists are present on road through the Royal National Park and up Bulli Pass. If you take the road up Bulli Pass beware of trucks that maybe slow moving.

Fuel

You can obtain fuel once the freeway ends at Albion Park.

Refreshments

1. Little Blow Hole Cafe - Great ocean views, out of town and plenty of off street parking.
